No less than 890 trainees graduated from the Film in a Case program by the African Film Academy in partnership with the Lagos State Government during the week.

The graduands had gone through different training in courses like acting, directing, light and lighting, editing, sound production and after production.

Speaking during the occasion that was held at the Lagos Theater, Igando, during the week, the CEO of the African Film Academy, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, encouraged the understudies to make constant utilization of all the training they had acquired during their experience with the academy.

She added that the agency went extended itself to train 890 understudies instead of the initial plan to train 600. She also stated that a few trainees had got business in any event, during the training. She said, “We will jump at the chance to let you know that even before we finished, a portion of these understudies had landed positions from some production houses.

Our editors are in great demand, and our cinematographers currently take commercial rates from us.”

Anyiam-Osigwe also thanked the Lagos State Lead representative, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for his help of the creative industry. Speaking at the occasion, Sanwo-Olu restated his administration’s obligation to collaborating with stakeholders in the entertainment industry to train and acquire abilities that would assist creative minds with making a fair living.

He maintained that his administration’s THEMES agenda is to make life much easier and beneficial to all Lagos occupants, especially the young people.

This was even as he said that the state is focused on achieving its 30 years (2022 to 2052) advancement plan, which was divulged as of late at the 2022 Ehingbeti Highest point, as well as building an African Film City in the Epe area of the state.

“I also advise the people who graduated from the African Film Academy and other creative initiatives by the state to take advantage of the Lagos State Business Trust Asset and the State Film Asset, to become independently employed and managers of labor.”
